Below are quick answers to the most common questions about pontoon rentals in Fort Walton Beach, including boater safety requirements, what’s included, and what to expect on rental day.
General
Yes. If you were born after January 1, 1988, Florida law requires you to have a Boater Safety Education Certificate to operate a boat. You can complete the test online before your rental, or take it in person at our location.
Florida law requires some boat operators to have a Boater Safety Education Certificate (based on date of birth). The renter must also have a valid photo ID. If you’re unsure what you need, contact us and we’ll help you confirm before your rental day.
Check-in is at our Fort Walton Beach location. Your confirmation message includes the exact address, parking instructions, and what time to arrive.
Crab Island is typically about a 15–20 minute boat ride from our Fort Walton Beach launch location (depending on speed and water conditions).
If you plan to fish and you’re 16 or older, you’ll need a Florida fishing license. You can purchase one online through the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission or at most local tackle shops. Guests under 16 do not need a license.
Yes, fuel is included with your pontoon rental.
Yes, we provide an area map and basic guidance so you can confidently navigate to popular spots like Crab Island.
Yes. We believe a day on the water shouldn’t cost a fortune. That’s why we offer affordable pontoon boat rentals in Fort Walton Beach with competitive pricing, newer well-maintained boats, and a smooth rental experience at our full-service marina.
Booking & Cancellations
You may cancel or reschedule your reservation up to 24 hours before your scheduled start time for a full refund (minus service fees), subject to availability.
If weather or water conditions are unsafe, we will offer the option to reschedule or receive a refund (minus service fees).
No-shows are not refundable.
We understand Florida weather can change quickly — that’s why we offer our Weather Protection Promise.
- Cancel or reschedule up to 30 minutes before departure for weather-related reasons
- If weather causes your trip to end early, we may prorate your rental for unused time
If weather changes while you’re on the water, head to a safe area and contact our team if needed. We monitor conditions closely and will help guide you on the safest next steps. If conditions become unsafe, we’ll work with you on the best solution for your reservation.
Dolphins & Other Wildlife
Dolphins are common in our area, but they are wild animals — so we can’t guarantee sightings. That said, many guests do see dolphins during their rental, especially while cruising the bay and channels.

Yes, alcohol is allowed for guests of legal drinking age. Please drink responsibly, the boat operator must remain sober and operate safely.
Yes, you’re welcome to bring snacks, drinks, and a cooler.
Yes, our boats include a Bluetooth stereo/speaker, so you can play your own music
Yes, well-behaved dogs are welcome. We have a non-refundable $50 pet deposit fee. Please keep pets under control, bring water for them, and note that you are responsible for any damage or extra cleaning.
Please arrive 30 minutes early for check-in and pre-departure instructions so you can get on the water on time.
If you’re running late, please contact us as soon as possible. Late arrivals may reduce your time on the water, and we can’t guarantee extensions if we have rentals scheduled after yours.
Our standard pontoons hold up to 10 or 12 passengers (depending on the boat). Our double-decker pontoon holds up to 14 passengers.
You must be 18 or older to rent a pontoon boat. Guests of any age are welcome to ride.
We recommend bringing:
- Towels
- Sunscreen
- Drinks and snacks (cooler recommended)
- Phone charger / waterproof case
- Sunglasses & hats
- Camera
- Snorkel gear (optional)
- Fishing gear (optional)
Pontoon rentals are very popular, so we recommend booking early. If weather affects your plans, we’ll work with you to reschedule based on availability.

No, pontoons are beginner-friendly and easy to operate. Our team will provide a quick overview of the controls, local navigation tips, and safety information before you leave the dock.
No, we provide life jackets for everyone, including children and infants.
Our rentals include a clean pontoon boat, fuel, required USCG safety equipment, bimini shade, anchor, swim ladder, and an area map to help you navigate and enjoy your day.
No, towing (tubes, skis, etc.) is not allowed behind our boats.
We offer half-day rentals (4 hours) and full-day rentals (8 hours).
Yes — a captain may be available upon request.
Captain pricing: $50/hour + $20 captain fee (gratuity not included)
Availability is limited, so we recommend booking early.
Important: Captains count toward the passenger limit (example: a 10-passenger boat allows 9 guests + 1 captain).
